Choosing the right person to support you is arguably the most important part of therapy. I encourage everybody to “shop around” and speak to a few therapists to see if they like their approach and feel like they will gel. Book a free 20 minute introductory call with me and let’s see if we might be able to work together.
This depends on your current difficulties, your budget and your preferences. After our initial assessment and once I understand your difficulties, I will be able to give a recommended number of sessions based on NICE guidelines. Generally speaking, most people benefit from 8-12 sessions of CBT. Some people will benefit from less and some people will require more than that. I
The cost of a 50 minute CBT session is £85. This is required 24 hours prior to our scheduled session to secure your booking.
I accept payment via bank transfer and AXA, Aviva and WPA insurance. If you are self-paying, payment is required 24 hours before a session. If you are paying through your private medical insurance, I will invoice your insurer directly.
Your insurer will be able to advise whether you have to pay an excess and how much your policy covers you for. Excess payments are usually payable directly to me but your insurer will advise you on this. Following excess payment, I will invoice your insurer directly. I have no access to information about your private medical insurance as this is your personal financial information. Please speak to your insurer if you are unsure about anything.
The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. By the end of the session I hope to know more about your current difficulties and how they are impacting you. Once I know more about your difficulties, I will give an overview of how I think CBT might support you and how we will work together as a team to address your problems. At the end of the session, I will ask how you have found the session today and we will discuss next steps. If you decide you’d like to continue working together, we will schedule or next session. If you decide you’d like time to think about how the session has been, we will agree whether you would like me to follow up with you or if you’d like to contact me in your own time.
